Known as Washington National Airport until the name was changed in honor of a more recent president in 1998, this is the closest airport to the American capital from which it still takes its IATA code, DCA. Naturally, the routes here are dominated by American Airlines which uses this airport as its hub. The airport is divided into three terminals, A, B, and C, with Air Canada Express in Terminal A and American Airlines in B and C.

This area of the United States is busy for virtually all types of travel including commuter, regional, and international routes via land, sea, and air.
