Taipei, Taiwan, has two airports. The primary one is Taoyuan International Airport. EVA Airways is the only carrier flying nonstop to Vancouver International Airport. EVA has one nonstop flight from Taipei, Taiwan-Taoyuan to Vancouver. With the airline's other flights and those of all other carriers, there are layovers ranging from about an hour to 10 hours. Xiamen Airlines has an outbound layover at Xiamen, China, and layovers at Xiamen and Hong Kong on the return. ANA, marketed as United Airlines, has an outbound layover at San Francisco. The return flight is on Air Canada to Tokyo, Japan, and then Delta Airlines from Tokyo to Taipei.

Taoyuan International Airport has two terminals. Flights to Canada leave from Terminal 2. Duty-free shopping and restaurants are post-security at the terminal.
Terminal Information for Vancouver International Airport
Vancouver International Airport is about 12 km from Downtown Vancouver. International flights arrive on Level 2 of the Main Terminal. A Canada Line rapid transit train to Downtown Vancouver, a 30-minute ride, leaves from Level 4. On-site car rental facilities are on ground level outside the terminal. Many Vancouver hotels offer courtesy shuttle van service between the airport and their properties.

Passport and Visa Requirements
Canada requires travellers to have passports to enter the country. Holders of passports issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan that include their personal identification number do not need visas for Canada. Upon arrival in Canada by air, citizens of Taiwan must request issuance of an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
Check-In Time Before Departure
For flights to Vancouver from Taipei-Taoyuan, check in at the airport two to three hours before the flight's scheduled departure. Passengers must go to the ticket counter if their airline does not have a self-service check-in kiosk. Travellers should ask their airline if it offers this airport check-in service.
