A quaint fishing village with only 2000 residents, Tofino gets surprisingly busy during the months of July and August. Tourists from all over Canada flock to the region for its spectacular views, relaxing ocean vibe, and clean sandy beaches.

Tofino is home to a wide variety of beach resorts and cottages, an arts scene influenced by nature and the area's First Nations history, and world-class restaurants that will have you coming back to visit time and time again.

There is no question that outdoor activities reign supreme in this Vancouver Island town. Whale-watching, fishing, camping, hiking, boating, and surfing are just some of the things you can do in the area.

You can spend hours walking along Tofino's sandy beaches looking for the perfect spot to take it all in, or take a day trip on a boat or seaplane to the nearby Hot Springs Cove for a dip in the incredible natural hot tubs. It is a short hike away from the water, so you can fit whale-watching, hiking, and the hot springs all in one day!

Tofino's most popular beach is Chesterman Beach, which has waves perfect for beginner surfers, a private sandy beach, and ample parking. If you prefer to comb a quiet beach for shells and sand dollars, Cox Beach is a better option. It sees less foot traffic, but is no less beautiful!
