What to Expect When Arriving at the Airport

Kolkata Airport's main terminal (Terminal 2) is split into five levels connected by 18 aerobridges. Upon arriving at the airport, you'll proceed to either the domestic or international sections of the terminal as appropriate. You'll then have several transportation options for getting to the city center.  

Depending on your chosen method of transport, getting from Kolkata Airport to the city center will take 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. The most convenient way to get from to the city center is by taxi, but there is also a shuttle service operated by Viator that can be booked online for around $20 U.S. Private car rentals are available at the airport, but it is recommended that you hire a driver with the car -- especially if you're unfamiliar with the local road rules.
