What to Expect at the Airport

Once you collect your bags and head for the exits, you'll have a couple of options for getting to San Jose itself. Licensed airport taxis, which can be identified by their orange colour, are the most reliable taxis for getting to the city and they accept payment in both colones and U.S. dollars. The Teatro Nacional is a beautiful building and stages excellent productions of plays, symphonies, operas, and concerts. San Jose is also an excellent base for exploring Costa Rica's natural offerings, including its stunning biodiversity, lush jungles, and gorgeous beaches.
