Belfast is home to two busy international airports. Belfast International Airport (BFS), located about 21 km from the city, serves over five million passengers per year. You cannot currently fly direct from Canada to Belfast International Airport but you can connect in major European cities like London and Paris.

Arriving at the Airport

Belfast Airport consists of one passenger terminal with two floors. The lower floor is reserved for arrivals. International Airport Taxi Company taxis are available just outside 24/7 so booking in advance is not necessary. There are also multiple bus routes which stop at the terminal and serve the greater Northern Ireland area. If you'd prefer to have your own transportation, six car rental companies are available on site, including Alamo and Hertz.

George Best Airport also consists of only one passenger terminal. Due to the airport's close proximity to the city centre, taxis are quick and only cost about $16 CAD. Translink trains are also accessible from the nearby Sydenham train station. Getting to the station is possible via a pedestrian bridge or by shuttle bus. George Best Airport is served by the same car rental companies that can be found at Belfast Airport.
