Flying out of Moscow

You have a lot to choose from if your international flight starts in Moscow. The city is served by no less than three international airports, the busiest in the Russian Federation. Sheremetyevo International Airport, Domodedovo International Airport, and Vnukovo International Airport share virtually all of the country's national and international air traffic. All three share the same IATA code, MOW, and the Russian flagship airline Aeroflot uses Sheremetyevo as it's main transit hub and flights to a smaller number of destinations out of Domodedovo.

Sheremetyevo International Airport is the biggest and most popular of all three, and this is likely where your international flight will depart. It has six terminals, divided into north and south, organized by charters, low cost airlines, and airline affiliate membership. The airport is connected to the city's public transportation via the Moscow Aeroexpress rail line and a suburban bus line.

Toronto Airport Options

The city of Toronto itself takes up a good bit of space in southern Ontario, combined with the urban sprawl of its suburban communities. The location, close to the border, ensures that an additional amount of traffic comes from the United States. No matter how busy things seem to get, Pearson International (YYZ) has the personnel and equipment to weather the storm and make travel relatively smooth at any time of the year. Winter holidays tend to be busier, with an equal amount of snowbirds, commuters, and skiers vying for space in virtually every direction.

International Travel Options for Toronto
