Toronto Pearson International
To go from Athens to Toronto is to go from one of the world's most ancient cities to one of its most modern ones. Athens offers visitors a plethora of attractions, most famously the Acropolis, and it is a popular connecting point for tourists travelling to or from the Greek Islands. Because Greece is a sunny destination, it is particularly popular with Canadians looking for a warm getaway that also offers lots of cultural attractions.
The Athens to Toronto route is currently served by two airlines, Air Canada and Air Transat. However, both airlines only fly this route directly on a seasonal basis. Outside the high season you will have to grab a connecting flight, often through Amsterdam, London, or Paris. Skyscanner's Price Alerts are a great way to help you nab any seat sale on this popular route. You can also use the monthly search tool to find out when the cheapest and most convenient time to fly may be.
Inside: Athens International Airport
All flights are checked in at the Main Terminal. If you are flying directly to Toronto Pearson you will have to head to Hall A to find your gate. If you are connecting through a European city then head to Hall B. The Athens International Airport is a new facility and has won widespread praise for its easy-to-navigate design. Check-in and security are generally quick and painless and, unlike many other airports, prices at shops and restaurants are comparable to what you would pay outside the airport. The airport is particularly well known for catering to families with small children and you will find a children's play area and, often, check-in lines that are exclusively for families to use. Remember that this is an international route so don't forget your passport!
