Belfast has two airports to serve you, the George Best Belfast City Airport (BHD), about 5 kilometres from downtown, and Belfast International Airport (BFS) 20 kilometres away. Non-stops are available only from Belfast International on RyanAir and EasyJet. Passenger check-in is on the lower level of the single terminal with a connector to the security station and the gates off to the left. Parking runs between $29.00 CAD per day in Long Term Parking to $32.00 CAD per day in the Main Lot. A less expensive alternative is the Airport Express, $13.00 CAD one way or $18.00 CAD if you book round-trip. British Airways and Flybe offer service from Belfast City Airport, but no non-stops are available and fares are considerably more expensive.
What to Expect When Arriving at the Airport
Passengers on EasyJet arrive at the North Terminal, while RyanAir flights use the South Terminal. A free monorail shuttle train connects the two terminals, which are considerably far apart. The Gatwick Express non-stop train leaves every 15 minutes from the South Terminal for central London. A round-trip ticket runs about $50.00 CAD and takes about a half-hour to make the 62-kilometre trip. Rental cars are available, but driving and parking in London is challenging. Taxis are also an option. The trip downtown usually takes about an hour and cost depends on traffic and final destination.
