Discover Hannover
Hannover Airport serves the city of Hanover (spelt Hannover in German and hence the different spelling of the airport name), which is the capital of Lower Saxony. While Hanover generally gets overlooked by travellers to Germany in favour of more popular destinations like Hamburg, Munich, and Berlin, Hanover is a fascinating city teeming with history and attractions. Thanks to the explosive growth in low-cost airlines in recent years, flying to Hanover from just about anywhere in Europe has become easier than ever. The monthly search feature provided by Skyscanner can help you find some of the cheapest and most convenient flights to Hanover.
Best Time to Book a Flight to Hanover
Like much of Germany, Hanover enjoys a temperate climate with four distinct seasons. Summers are the warmest and most pleasant time to visit, with temperatures usually in the mid-20s. This is also when most of the city's festivals are on. Spring is also a nice time to visit, although be aware that during March CeBIT comes to town, which is the world's largest computer-related exhibition and can cause hotel rooms to fill up fast. Winters are cool, with snow common, although thanks to the city's Christmas Markets even winter can be a nice time to experience Hanover.

What to Expect at the Airport
Hannover Airport is divided into Terminals A, B, and C. All three terminals are connected to one another so getting from one to the other by walking is easy. The airport is located just 11 km north of the city centre and perhaps the fastest and cheapest way of getting to the city centre is with the S-Bahn (the suburban train network). The S-Bahn station is located underneath Terminal C. Just follow the signs showing a white "S" in a green circle. A taxi stand is also available just as you exit the arrivals hall. Hannover Airport is located adjacent to the A352 motorway, making driving a convenient option. You can rent a car from one of a number of agencies at the airport.
