Travellers need a travel authorization to visit New Zealand for Business or Tourism.

Visa-exempt visitors entering New Zealand must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Travellers can submit the eTA application online. Once the application is approved, travellers receive their eTA confirmation electronically.

An eTA is electronically linked to a passport and valid for up to 2 years. If travellers receive a new passport, they must apply for a new eTA.

A valid eTA is required to board the flight. If the eTA is expired or doesn’t match the traveller’s passport information, travellers will not be able to board their flight.

All travellers arriving at New Zealand airports must complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration. Travellers are able to complete the New Zealand Traveller Declaration a maximum of 24 hours before departure.

Travellers can complete the declaration online or via the mobile app. The mobile app may not be available to travellers in certain countries and regions.

When completing the New Zealand Traveller Declaration, travellers must provide their contact details, passport information, flight number, travel history from the last 30 days, luggage information, and immigration status (if required).

A paper declaration form is available for travellers unable to complete the form online.

Travellers need a valid passport to enter New Zealand. The traveller's passport must remain valid for at least 3 months after the traveller departs from New Zealand.

• Health screening: While not always required, officials might ask for a health certificate or a medical exam upon arrival. This is more likely if you're coming from an area with a health outbreak or if you show signs of illness.
