The international gateway to Turks and Caicos is through Providenciales International Airport. Air Canada and WestJet both have direct flights from Toronto and Montreal throughout the week. Weather in Turks and Caicos
Turks and Caicos has a dry and sunny tropical climate and boast that they receive 350 days of sunshine a year. The average temperature from June to October ranges from 29 to 32 degrees Celsius, sometimes reaching as high as 35 C. From November to May it is bit more temperate with an average of 27 to 29 degrees Celsius. Like the other islands in the Caribbean, Turks and Caicos, has hurricane season from June 1st to November 30th, so it is important to keep that in mind when booking a vacation. The islands' busiest time or "high season" is during the winter months from the end of November through to the end of March. During this time hotels and flights will be most expensive, so keep that in mind when planning.
Things to Do
First and foremost the main attraction is the beach. Beautiful clear blue waters and white sandy beaches make for an idyllic Caribbean vacation. The most well known beach is Grace Bay on Providenciales. All beaches are perfect spots to snorkel and there are many scuba diving spots to visit. Turks and Caicos is also known for its eco-tourism and there are plenty of kayak tours to explore the beautiful nature of the islands. There are golf courses on both Providenciales and Grand Turk that are known throughout the Caribbean.
Transportation
Taxis are readily available from the airport, but be prepared to pay per person and not just based on time/distance. They can also be quite expensive because of this. Another common form of transportation is also biking. Bikes are available at most hotels and due to the flat terrain and short distances they are very popular for exploring the islands.
