Sofia Airport (SOF) is located on the east side of the city, about 10km from the city center. Sofia is warmest and busiest in the summer. Spring and fall have pleasant temperatures, fewer tourists, and cheaper accommodation. Metro line 1 connects Sofia Airport to the city, and the trip takes about 18 minutes. The Metro also connects to the local bus, trolleybus, and railway stations. OK Supertrans AD offers taxi service from the airport. Do not use the taxis outside the office or in front of the terminal, as they are not guaranteed legitimate. Car rentals are available from several companies inside both terminals just after clearing customs.
There are shops in both terminals, and payments are accepted in Bulgarian lev, Euros, US dollars, Swiss francs, or British pounds. There are three cafés in Terminal 2, and comfortable lounges in both terminals. Both terminals have banks, ATMs, currency exchange, and post office services. There is a prayer and meditation room at terminal 2.
