Discover Kerry

The Ring of Kerry is one of Ireland's most scenic regions and certainly one of the most popular for tourists. With pristine beaches, fantastic views of the Atlantic, historic castles, and charming towns, this is a postcard-perfect region where you can experience traditional Irish culture firsthand.

The small Kerry Airport offers a convenient gateway to the Ring of Kerry, County Kerry, and the beautiful town of Killarney. While the airport isn't very large, it is popular with tourists and provides convenient connections to cities in Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe. With Skyscanner's Whole Month tool you can find great deals on flights to Kerry during any month of the year.

Best Time to Book a Flight to Kerry Airport

Much of the Ring of Kerry consists of sights right on the Atlantic Ocean itself, so not surprisingly the weather in this region can be a bit unpredictable. Rain is common, even during the otherwise pleasant summer months, although the good thing is that it usually passes quickly. Summer is certainly the most popular time for tourists and winter is a bit too cold and damp for most visitors. Airlines that Fly to Kerry Airport

Kerry Airport is a small airport so there aren't very many airlines that fly to it. Currently, Kerry Airport is only served by Aer Lingus, which offers a direct flight to Dublin and indirect flights to North America, and Ryanair, which offers year-round service to London, Berlin, and Frankfurt, as well as seasonal service to Spain and Portugal.

What to Expect When Arriving at the Airport

Kerry Airport is the only airport in Ireland that is connected to a train station, the Farranfore Station, which is located just 10 minutes by foot from the airport and provides service to Killareny, Limerick, Cork, and elsewhere in Ireland. There is also a Bus Terminal right outside the airport with direct service to Killarney, Tralee, and Limerick. A taxi stand is also located just outside of the airport exit. Many of County Kerry's main attractions are in the countryside, which makes renting a car when you get to the airport a good idea.

Airport Facilities

Kerry Airport may not be very large, but it does have enough services and amenities to allow you to pass a couple hours comfortably. There is a gift shop where you can pick up some last minute souvenirs as well as a fully licensed bar and restaurant where you can grab a meal and a drink. A currency exchange is also on offer and it accepts all major currencies, which is perfect if you arrive here in need of some euros. Kerry Airport also provides free WiFi throughout the terminal building for passengers.

What to See and Do in County Kerry

County Kerry is one of the most scenic corners of Ireland, featuring spectacular oceanside nature and towns and villages where Irish is still the first language of many residents. The Ring of Kerry is a tourist route that will take you past the region's most visited sights, including the Skellig Michael, a stunning island and UNESCO World Heritage Site that is home to a 6th-century monastic settlement. As one of Ireland's most visited regions, finding a hotel in County Kerry is usually fairly easy, although you will want to book well in advance if visiting during the summer.
