Cheap flights to Norman Manley Airport in Kingston, Jamaica
Norman Manley Airport is an international airport located 19km away from the centre of Kingston, the capital of Jamaica. Kingston is located on the Southeast coast and is the largest city on the island. There are two parts that make up the central area: the historic Downtown and New Kingston. The city is surrounded by lush natural attractions such as the Blue Mountains, the Red Hills, Long Mountain, and the Kingston Harbour. Kingston has a tropical climate, but does have a wet season from May to November, so expect some rain if travelling during those months. To find the cheapest times to fly to Kingston use Skyscanner as tool when planning your trip.
What to do in Kingston
Kingston has an eclectic selection of things to do while visiting the city. The Royal Botanical Gardens at Hope, locally known as the Hope Gardens, is the largest botanical garden in the English-speaking Caribbean and has an adjoining zoo. The city is also home to the Bob Marley museum, which is dedicated to the famous reggae artist and located in his former home. For the more active travellers, there is the walking track up the Blue Mountains. At the highest peak of the mountain, both the north and the south coasts of Jamaica can be seen. Kingston also has a number of local restaurants and bars to visit. Use the Skyscanner hotel tool to find hotels that are near attractions and places that are of interest to you.
Getting Around in Kingston
Jamaica has a number of forms of public transportation. That being said, even though the public bus is inexpensive, there are long wait times and they are usually very crowded. An alternative to public transportation would be to hire a private driver for your stay, which can be arranged through your hotel. While a little more pricey than the public bus, it will be more comfortable and prices can be negotiated for half or full day services. Taxis will have a red license plate and will be easily distinguished from other drivers. Route taxis will only go on the route stated on the side of the bus and will be shared with other passengers. This is an affordable medium between the public bus and a private driver. There is also always the option to rent a car. Use the price check tool on Skyscanner to arrange and book a car.
