What to Expect When Arriving at the Airport

Despite being the country's main airport, Julius Nyerere International Airport is fairly small when compared to other international airports and very easy to navigate. That said, you'll want to be sure to give yourself plenty of time to to get through the airport, especially if you have a connecting flight or need to obtain a visa. The airport can be get quite busy during the peak travel season, and getting a Tanzanian visa can be a very slow process with wats in long queues of up to two hours.
