The Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) is hardly the bustling hub like YUL in Montreal. PSP operates mostly on a seasonal basis, welcoming those fleeing from the savage northern cold. It has a similar open-air, one terminal design that is divided into three different sections. One of the concourses in the main terminal is named in honor of Sonny Bono, and if you’re driving, you can leave the airport via Kirk Douglas Way.

  • The Main Terminal is the main artery to the road for both arriving and departing traffic. Ground transportation is available here, including a connection to the local bus line and the Amtrak Thruway bus.
  • The Sonny Bono Concourse. You can find gates three to 11 in this section named for the former musician, congressman, and mayor of Palm Springs. This newer addition has jet bridges and can handle larger aircraft.
  • Gates 12 to 20 make up the third section of the airport, and don’t have an official name yet. Smaller prop planes land in this area, which doesn’t have any jetways.
