Cheap Flights from Riyadh to Toronto
Departing from Riyadh
Riyadh's airport is formally known as King Khalid Airport (RUH), and is located about thirty-five kilometers north of Riyadh's city center. Passengers traveling internationally should arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flight is scheduled to depart. After checking in, travelers will complete an exit card, present it to immigration authorities and then pass through security to the boarding lounges. Riyadh Airport is well-known for having little to occupy travelers who are waiting to depart, so bring a book or magazine.
There are no direct flights from Riyadh to Toronto, so travelers will need to connect through another airport. The most popular routes include flying with Saudia through Jeddah, with Lufthansa through Frankfurt, and with British Airways through London. Travelers will require a passport to fly out of Riyadh, and may also require a transit visa if they are connecting through an airport in the Middle East.
Arriving in Toronto
Flights from Riyadh to Toronto arrive at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Depending on your airline, you may land at Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 (the two are connected by a free Terminal Link train). Upon arrival travelers will need to pass through Canadian immigration before claiming their baggage and clearing Canadian customs. From here, you can exit into the airport's public areas, where you will find a hotel, gym, bank, and currency exchange office where you can exchange any remaining Saudi riyals for Canadian dollars.
To reach Toronto's city center, most travelers like to hop on the Union Pearson Express train, which departs every fifteen minutes for Union Station in downtown Toronto. The trip takes twenty-five minutes and costs $12. There are also express buses to the nearest Toronto subway stations, flat-rate taxis (current fares from the airport will be posted in the window) and a wide variety of car rental services.
