What to expect when arriving at the airport

The airport is located about a 30 minute drive from Santo Domingo's historic centre. There is no public transit connecting the airport to the city, so you will either have to get a taxi, rent a car, or arrange for pickup through your hotel or tour operator. Most of the food options at both terminals are fast food featuring either local or international options. Remember that most restaurants close at 7 pm.
