While the stunning Alhambra is definitely the city's main attraction, there are plenty of other things to see and do in this magical Andalusian destination. Granada is an outstanding architectural and cultural gem in a country that isn't exactly short on such offerings. By far the main site in Granada is the Alhambra. This vast complex of gardens, palaces, and forts was where the Moors once ruled their Spanish kingdom from. The history, architecture, and gardens of this UNESCO World Heritage Site are stunning and you should schedule a full day to really appreciate it. The Cathedral of Granada, the second-largest cathedral in Spain, is also worth a visit, as is the ancient neighbourhood of Albayzin, another UNESCO World Heritage Site.
