Cheap Flights to Columbia Airport
Columbia Regional Airport (COU), also known simply as Columbia Airport, is located 19 kilometres to the south-east of the city centre of Columbia, Missouri. It is the only airport in the Mid-Missouri airport that handles commercial flights. The airport is served by two airlines: American Eagle and United Airlines Express. To find cheap flights to Columbia Airport, simply enter your departure date and city into Skyscanner's flight search. If your travel date is flexible, our Whole Month search filter can give you a high-level view of which days of the month have the lowest priced tickets.
Best Time to Fly to Columbia Airport
Due to its location in the centre of the country, Missouri experiences a decidedly humid climate with rainy springtimes, hot summers, and mild autumns, and cold winters. The high season for tourism runs from June to August. If you're travelling to the city during these months, be prepared to pay much higher airfares and hotel rates than you would during the off-peak season. If you don't mind rainy weather, you can usually find much better flight and accommodation deals during the spring months (March to May). Otherwise, the ideal time to visit Columbia is during the fall months (September to November), when flights and hotels are cheap, and the climate is mild and dry.
Airlines That Fly to Columbia Airport
American Eagle and United Express are the only airlines that fly to Columbia Regional Airport. There are no direct flights from Canadian points of origin to this air facility. Skyscanner's Price Alert tool can monitor air ticket prices for these carriers and notify you when prices are low so you can book the cheapest available flight.
What to Expect When Arriving at the Airport
All flights arriving at and departing from Columbia Airport are handled within a single passenger terminal that houses two gates: Gate 1, which serves American Airlines flights, and Gate 2, which handles United airlines flights. Ground transportation options for travelling to the city centre are found outside of the Arrivals exit. They include metered taxis, limousine services, and hotel shuttles. If you'd prefer to drive yourself, there are several car rental agency desks inside of the terminal adjacent to the Airport Public Safety office.
Airport Facilities
Columbia Airport offers limited facilities and services for arriving travellers but you'll find a cafe, vending machines, a lost-and-found counter and several vending machines within the Arrivals hall. Free WiFi provided by The City of Columbia is available throughout the terminal. There are no business or conference facilities at the airport, but the nearby Country Inn & Suites has a business centre where guests can make phone calls, use photocopying and fax services, and surf the Internet.
What to See and Do in Columbia
Popular tourist attractions in Columbia include Rock Bridge Memorial State Park, Francis Quadrangle, and the Columbia Art League gallery. If you're visiting during the autumn months, be sure to check out Shyrocks Callaway Farms, a family farm which is open to tourists and features a new corn maze every year.
