Costa Rica has two international airports: San Jose International Airport (SJO), which is located in the Central Valley region north of San Jose, and Liberia International Airport (LIR), which serves the northwestern Guanacaste region. Both are modern and efficient facilities, so which one you choose to depart from will depend on your budget, destination, and itinerary.

NatureAir and SANSA operate from both airports, but domestic flights are only available from San Jose Airport. Among the major airlines offering international flights from both of Costa Rica's airports are Air Canada, Alaska Air, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, and Spirit.
