Cheap Flights to Whistler Airport
The city of Whistler is a beautiful and popular resort town in British Columbia, home to the Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. For a truly unique trip, you'll want to fly into the Whistler/Green Lake Water Aerodrome (YWS), known informally as "Whistler Airport", and take a seaplane tour.
If you're looking for the lowest price into Whistler Airport,Skyscanner's Price Alert feature will monitor flights for you and send you updates as ticket prices increase and decrease. Once you see a price you like, you can use Skyscanner to quickly and easily book your trip.
Whistler Airport Facilities
Whistler Airport is not like a typical airport. When you fly to YWS, you are doing so to take part in an amazing seaplane tour with Harbour Air Seaplanes. The airport is essentially just a base for tour operations and thus does not have the amenities that most airports do.
Harbour Air offers five different seaplane tour packages, with flight times ranging from 20 minutes to one hour. Their most popular Whistler tour runs approximately 30 minutes in the air and gives you an amazing view of Garibaldi Lake and its striking turquoise-coloured waters. On the tour you will also have a great aerial view of the mountain peaks and glaciers in the area.
Best Time to Book a Flight to Whistler Airport
All of Harbour Air's seaplane tours run from May to September, so you will need to book within this time frame. During these months, the temperature in Whistler is generally mild to hot. If can't decide when to book your vacation, Skyscanner's cheapest month search tool can help by showing you which month offers the cheapest airfare.
What to See and Do in Whistler
Aside from the seaplane tours, there is plenty to do in Whistler. Whistler was the host city for the 2010 Winter Olympics and has great mountains for skiing, snowboarding, and for other outdoor winter activities. The stunning mountain scenery also makes Whistler the perfect spot to take fun photos.
If you're not interested in winter sports, there are still many great things to see and do in Whistler. You can relax and pamper yourself at a luxurious spa, try fresh seafood at a local restaurant, or check out one of the city's cultural attractions, like the Audain Art Museum.
Tips for Travelling to Whistler Airport
Only two airlines operate out of the Whistler/Green Lake Water Aerodrome: West Coast Air and Whistler Air (both operated by Harbour Air). The only way to get to YWS is to take a flight from Vancouver or from Victoria on one of these airlines. Consider extending your Whistler trip so you can explore all the wonderful things to see and do in these two great destinations too.
