Although Halifax Stanfield International Airport has just one terminal, it is Atlantic Canada's busiest airport. It has won numerous awards for customer satisfaction and is widely recognized as being one of the best airports in its class in North America. There are a number of unique shopping and dining options at the airport, including a seafood store selling fresh lobster, a number of souvenir stores featuring local items, and a traditional Maritimes pub. Deer Lake Regional Airport was renovated and expanded in 2007, so you can expect a modern facility with plenty of amenities. The airport is small but spacious. To get from the airport to your hotel you have a few transportation options. A shuttle bus operates to Corner Brook, Pasadena, and other destinations and taxi service is also available. Public transportation in Western Newfoundland is limited, however, and if you plan on visiting Gros Morne National Park or driving the Viking Trail then you will need to rent a car, which can also be done at the airport. Also, keep in mind that Newfoundland has its own time zone which is a half hour ahead of Atlantic Time.
