Amazing stay!

We stayed at the Champagne House and it was great! Our room was spotless and much larger than I was expecting. The Village Tavern Inn staff all seem extremely nice and made our stay so easy and fun. It is in a great location with a quick walk to the town of Hammondsport and Keuka Lake. I highly recommend staying here, and we will absolutely be back!!

Disappointing

Have stayed in the rooms before, above the restaurant and the champagne house. Very clean but thin walls and creeky floors in all rooms so far. The food is underwhelming. I thought we found the most amazing fried pickles (yes, fried pickles) EVER! However we went back this summer specifically to get the pickles, drove over an hour, and they came out with very thin overly fried spears, they had previously been very plump juicy spears on multiple occasions. And the sauce described as a southwest ranch which was fantastic in the past came out as a bright orange gooey/slimey sauce that tasted absolutely nothing like a southwest ranch. More like a cheap thousand island or something. So disappointing… hope they improve the pickle quality to its former glory LOL

Wonderful Find!

The food is delicious, the staff is very friendly. We sat at the bar and had drinks and dinner. My husband and I each ordered a different special. Mine was the Mediterranean shrimp pasta and his was the huge BBQ board. Both were $38 and worth every penny. If you're eating here after 6 make a reservation as it got really busy here. A very talented pianist from the original Benny Goodman Band played the keyboard. At the park across the street music by a local duo was really good too.

Cannot beat location, clean and comfortable

Stayed at the 1835 House, a 2-unit accommodation that is part of the Village Inn. It's a 2 bedroom apartment that is comfortable, well equipped and has a fantastic location right across from the Tavern and the village square and a 5 minute walk to the waterfront. Not much of the original house remains, the floors basically but they were very pretty. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had anything you would need, including coffee. There was a full sized stove, microwave and fridge/freezer too. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the front porch with a glass a wine and saying hello to all the friendly passers-by. The place was very clean but the bathroom could use a little love.

Stay in Hammendsport NY

We spent a few days enjoying the wineries in the Finger Lakes. 4 of stayed at the 1835 house. We all felt very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. We stayed on the 2nd floor. Be prepared.. the floor is not level. The rooms were clean and the kitchen area was good. Bathroom needs a table as there is no counter to put toiletries. Great location in a quaint older town. I would definitely stay again.
