Good location, hotel nice but not perfect

We had a really good holiday. The kids are desperate to go again and had the “best holiday ever” (which is what counts) but I didn’t feel that the hotel lived up to its 5 star rating due to a number of niggles.
It’s the best location by far out of all the Disney hotels and made the trip a lot easier by being so close to the parks. It is a shame that most of the rooms are in the opposite wing to the exit so you have to walk across the huge balcony to get to them. When you’re exhausted, every additional step feels really hard work. It would make a huge difference to our experience if there was another exit on that side of the hotel. One of the lifts was also broken for our whole visit (and no sign of anyone trying to fix it) which meant waiting to get out of the hotel in the busy mornings which was a bit annoying.
The princess meets were brilliant. Great to be able to meet them so frequently and with relatively small waits (circa 10 mins usually), a real plus to staying in the hotel.
We felt that the hotel should restrict access to guests only. There were times where the lobby was so busy with people waiting for princess shows.
You’re given water in the mini bar on the first day but it’s made clear this won’t be replaced unless you pay for it. A bottle of water a day in a 5 star hotel doesn’t seem an unreasonable ask…
Breakfast was nice, croissants were a particular favourite for my children, but more fresh fruit options would really be appreciated.
The royal banquet was a disappointment. It’s a really expensive meal for what it is, the food was nice but the organisation was a real let down. The queues were huge. I don’t expect to pay €269 (2 adults and 2 children) to have to queue 30 minutes to get food. I missed my children meeting Minnie because of the queues. Having said that all the character interactions were great, but it felt like too many bookings had been taken at the same time.
Overall a good holiday, we had a lot of fun, loved the location of the hotel but would probably stay in hotel new York again going forwards because the extra service levels you’d expect for the cost just aren’t there in this hotel.

Overall a pretty good stay

Pretty good, although at the price there were a couple of things that should have been better. At breakfast we were seated quickly and told that everything was self-service apart from hot beverages which would be served by staff at the table. We sat for too long trying to get someone's attention to be able to get a coffee. There are plenty of staff, but they seem to make a point of avoiding eye contact and they certainly didn't proactively come to our table to arrange drinks. The rooms are pretty small for the price you pay and also I was expecting to be able to walk straight into the parks from the hotel... however gates had to be passed through with lots of other people which took longer than we'd been expecting.

Disappointed

The hotel is very nice however the service and maintenance needs to improve.
The biggest issue we had was the lights in our room on our last night would not switch off correctly. Maintenance did arrive after midnight to try and rectify however they left with a light on in the room and no bathroom light. This was very inconvenient as we were travelling with a 4year old. The following morning I discussed this with reception and all I was told was they will record the incident and have a nice day.
In addition on arrival only 3 dressing gowns and slippers were available for 5 guests, after requesting more they never arrived. A bed guard rail was requested, never arrived.
Finally two of three elevators were operating on arrival and on check out only one was operating.
Not really what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you found the hotel itself to be nice, but we sincerely regret the service and maintenance issues that impacted your stay.
We understand how frustrating and inconvenient the issues with the room lighting, missing amenities, and elevator functionality must have been—especially while traveling with a young child. We deeply apologize that our service did not meet your expectations and that your requests were not properly followed up on. This is certainly not the experience we aim to provide, and your concerns will be shared with the relevant teams to ensure we improve our responsiveness and attention to detail.
Your feedback is invaluable in helping us enhance the quality of our service, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future for a much-improved experience.
Best regards,
Yeray

Disappointed

Overall it was ok. The disney park itself was amazing and this is our 8th trip, 2nd time at the disney hotel. However, the royal banquet was disappointing. Not worth the money. The food was limited in choice especially for the children. It is buffet style and mid evening the trays had not been replenished and were empty, food was luke warm. The characters come round while you have you meal which is lovely, however, some of the costumes appeared very dirty, especially Pluto's. At €55 per person for a buffet that was limited and empty. I was expecting more from a 5 star plus hotel. Location is great as no need to catch a shuttle bus back to the other hotels was it worth £4000 for 2 nights that I had spent a long time saving up for. Maybe next time I would consider my meal options as I don't think the premium meal plan is worth it for an empty, luke warm buffet with characters in grubby costumes.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. First and foremost, we truly appreciate your loyalty and are delighted that you continue to enjoy the magic of Disneyland Paris. It’s wonderful to hear that the park itself met your expectations again!
However, we sincerely regret that your experience at the Royal Banquet did not live up to your expectations. Providing a high-quality dining experience is incredibly important to us, and we are sorry that you found the food choices limited, the trays not replenished, and the temperature of the dishes not up to standard. Your concerns regarding costume cleanliness are also noted, as we strive to maintain the highest standards for all aspects of our guest experience.
We take feedback like yours very seriously and will ensure that your comments are shared with the relevant teams for review and improvement. It is always our goal to provide magical moments that are truly worth the investment our guests make, and we regret that this aspect of your visit did not reflect that.
We sincerely hope to welcome you back in the future for an experience that is much closer to the high standards you expect and deserve.
Best regards,

Has Disney lost the plot?

Our family have just returned from a 3 day stay at the Disneyland Hotel, which was ruined by the jobs-worth attitude of the staff at Studios, who took away our hired pushchair. We had been alternating between the two parks all day, only to be told out of the blue to hand it back and make new arrangements at the Disneyland park. Staff showed a complete lack of empathy, and little desire to help us 'enjoy our stay and have fun', which we had considered a trademark of Disney. Walt would turn in his grave!
