A Great Place To Stay

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during our China trip in the fall. The hotel is well located and close to several attractions of Yanzhou - Slender west lake, Dongguan History Culture Tourist Area, Yangzhou Royal Wharf. The staff is friendly, our room is clean and spacious. We highly recommend this hotel.

Spacious, comfortable and well located.

Firstly, the image shown here must be old as it doesn't look like this. It's in a much larger and more modern building than the one shown.
This was my second stay at the Xiyuan Hotel, both this year. I find it comfortable and convenient, and well priced. The rooms are extremely large and fairly opulent, with walk in wardrobes, sofa and well equipped bathroom with spacious shower and bath, and his’n’her vanity.
One of my favourite and more interesting things, was the sterilised TV remote, in a sealed paper bag.
The hotel is located quite close to the main city area (around 10-15min walk) and West Lake, within its own garden setting, away from the main road.
The breakfast buffet is slightly limiting for western palettes, nor is it the freshest, but still much better than others I’ve experienced in China. As is typical in Asian hotels, the chef will cook eggs as you wish upon request.
The Yangzhou fried rice and green vegetable are my choice dishes from the breakfast buffet.
The Songjiacheng Park is great for a run or walk, and is popular with locals and visitors alike. It’s about 2km away. For something closer, I mapped out a little run circuit around the hotel grounds, maximising a loop around the car parks and small road to the side of the hotel, which creates around a 750 metre circuit. There’s little traffic in the morning, so apart from the occasional motor scooter or car, traffic is not an issue. I didn’t even check out the gym, as I don’t do weights or use equipment. I just run, and I like to run when I travel, and only use the treadmill in the gym if running outside is really not an option.

Good Five star hotel

This hotel compound is used for many conferences and meetings. Its very well run and efficient. Rooms are very clean and spacious, staffs are courteous and very helpful. They have serves huge buffet style breakfast in the central building. The prices are very reasonable. I think the building near the main entrance are the best
modernized one. If you have time, you should take time to explore the on-site gardens. Overall, its a very good and satisfactory experiences.

good value and comfortable

room was spacious and clean. lighting sufficient. there was a smell in the bathroom everytime we come into the room, but as soon as the aircon kicks in it would be fine. offers comfortable and quiet sleep.
guests receive three complimentary dishes from the chinese restaurant. it's disappointing though, there are better choices in town.

1st choice in Yangzhou

we stayed at this hotel because of its location, it is right beside all the main attractions in Yangzhou which I stayed for two days, very nice hotel, excellent front desk staff and helpful bell boys, the surrounding is so peaceful because it is set back so far from the road with gardens, facilities in the hotel is good, don't forget to try the famous morning dumpling breakfast- a specialty dimsum for the area- at front entrance of the hotel, the restaurant is only steps away and i believe it is manged by the hotel. Also surprisingly good buffett in the hotel dining room, for hundred yuan, you got so many choices of hot food, sushi, noodles, freshly stirfly dishes, wine, beer tons of dessert. excellent value here. Room is clean and well maintained, I enjoy the stay so much I stay one extra night there. Recommended.
Note, Yangzhou is a very small place to explore ,2 days one night will suffice. Beaware of the tourist trap; like 3 wheeler promised to drive u around but they only go to those area without entrance fee, so u can only see from the outside.
