Often known as Nsimalen Airport, Yaoundé's international airport is located 27 km to the south of Cameroon's capital city. It's the largest airport inside the country and the second busiest after Douala International Airport. Yaoundé Airport also serves as one of the main hubs for Cameroon's flagship airline, Camair-co. Able to accommodate 1.5 million passengers per year, this single-terminal airport offers direct flights to 11 countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe.
While Yaoundé does have a bus system, it's recommended that you take a taxi or rent a car on-site to reach the capital's downtown core. Taxis have a fixed rate of 200 CFA ($0.45 CAD), unless you're driving a far distance.
