What to expect when arriving at the airport

The airport is just 6 km from Fira, the capital of Santorini. There is a public bus that departs from outside the airport and will take you to the main bus station in Fira, from where you can catch a connecting bus to other parts of the island. Keep in mind that the schedule for the bus varies quite a bit and times between departures can be up to a few hours. A better choice is to take a taxi, which will get you to Fira in about five minutes. Negotiate a price beforehand. The hotel may also offer a shuttle service, which is more convenient but tends to be more expensive than a taxi.
