Best Time to Book a Flight to Kansas City International Airport
Kansas City is a year-round destination but climate wise, September and October are the two favoured months. Called "Indian Summer," the temperatures are warm but not as humid as during the summer. September to mid-November is also rodeo season. The American Royal is a series of events that also includes cattle exhibitions, concerts and in October, the World Series of Barbecue. As you can imagine, availability is tight during this time frame. Travelling midweek can bring your costs down, as can booking early. Skyscanner's Whole Month Search can let you compare an entire month's worth of rates at once. Search out that low fare, and book it, quick! That same strategy works quite well year-round.

What to See and Do in Kansas City
Kansas City straddles two states, Missouri and Kansas, with most of the attractions on the Missouri side. Love museums? Kansas City will not disappoint. Explore the history of the Great War at the National WWI Museum or learn about the 33rd President of the United States at the Harry S Truman Presidential Library and Museum. The site is also the final resting place of the Truman First Family. Head over to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and find works by Picasso, Pollock and more. If you're ready to burn off some excess energy, take in the World of Fun, a 235-acre amusement park with roller coasters, thrill rides and a kids area with a Snoopy theme. You simply can't leave this city without trying some barbeque. A local favourite is Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que. Nothing fancy, it's housed in an old gas station that's awash in neon, but the pulled pork is considered the best. Joe's is on the Kansas side of the border. For some after hours fun, head to the Power & Light District, filled with pubs and trendy restaurants, many catering to a younger crowd.
