Its a beach town in Mexico, about 1.5 hrs drive south from San Diego. Spent a weekend with friends here and had a great time. Ate a lot of local tacos for 50 cents each (1998 price), 80 cents (2002 price) and also tried their sidewalk seafood ceviche in a cup.
This coastal Baja port city is not as touristy or as visited as Rosarito or TJ, but you can still find plenty of fun. The bars and clubs that line the main downtown stomping grounds are wild; go for margaritas at 11am and you'll suddenly find yourself with a platter of cheap tequila shots, roses from adoring strangers (if you're a woman), and whistle-blowing bar staff who love to bring you up in front of the crowds on the street and shotgun you, then pick you up and spin you around for a free show. Not like that happened to us or anything...
Ensenada (Spanish pronunciation: [enseˈnaða]) is a coastal city in Mexico, the third-largest in Baja California. Lying 125 kilometres (78 mi) south of San Diego on theBaja California Peninsula, it is locally referred to as La Cenicienta del Pacífico, "TheCinderella of the Pacific."
