Only positive things to report

We stayed from 13.03 to 16.03.26 at the Hotel Blocksberg, on recommendation.
We were positively surprised. The house has its own bakery and thus provides not only its own guests, but also the community.
The memory card is small but fine. Our coat nose Sir Henry was also well looked after (with treats from the house). We can only recommend the hotel.

Definitely not again

We had ants in our room. The manager informed us very unfriendly that we are in the countryside and that the problem is well known. Well, we were lucky. There are supposed to be other pests in the countryside as well. The room was worn out and in need of renovation. The staff is very friendly but sometimes overwhelmed. At breakfast, everything is available and is replenished by the cook. The dinner buffet is tasty but not worth €28.50. Unfortunately, there is only a buffet or a menu depending on the number of customers (buffet for many, menu for few). Since the second restaurant in the village is closed due to illness, there is no choice. In my opinion, the rolls for breakfast were frozen products and not fresh bakery rolls. The Wi-Fi is good. There are plenty of parking spaces available. The restaurant itself is only open in the evening from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, which allows for an early bedtime. Great hotel, super friendly staff, modern rooms.

We stayed from Thursday to Sunday with friends in the Harz and chose this hotel on recommendation. We are more than disappointed!!
Nice the welcome was very cool and connected with a grumpy note, until 8 pm the kitchen would still be occupied. Even drinks, despite the existing bar, were only available to take to the rooms.
Food was so lala, Solyanka very thin (was stretched to make it last for more portions, seasoning meat tasty insufficient. The staff, except for 2 ladies, tried to cope with the situation with kindness.
The entire hotel has a very high investment requirement.

Very nice cozy accommodation for young and old

A very nice little hotel with a family atmosphere. The hotel is child and pet friendly. The food (breakfast and evening) is varied and very diverse, as well as very tasty. The portions are not too big and not too small, just right. On certain days, a buffet is offered instead of the food from the menu. There is enough parking on site. The hotel staff are also super friendly and are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Superb last minute booking

Booked in to this hotel after we discovered our previously booked hotel was a 'dive' (restaurant shut, owner not on premises, and they had had a dog in the room to which my wife was allergic). Hotel Blocksberg was the complete opposite and the owner could not be more accomodating. The room was big and clean with a balcony (smoking allowed on said, if you are addicted to the weed). The only thing missing for this guest was a railway view but beggars cannot be choosers! There is a bar and restaurant attached with, at weekends. a 'help yourself buffet dinner for a set fee. The generous breakfast is also a buffet.
If you are travelling in this area on a budget - highly recommended.
