Klare Empfehlung

Meine Frau und ich waren vom 19.7.-23.7.2021 Gäste im Gasthaus & Restaurant "Zur Alten Post". Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Der Chef - zugleich auch der Koch - sowie die Mitarbeiterinnen zur Bedienung der Gäste im Restaurant / Außenbereich waren stets ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Qualität der Speisen war super und uns hat es prima geschmeckt. Auch das Frühstück können wir loben. Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber und praktisch eingerichtet.
Zusammengefasst können wir das Gasthaus & Restaurant "Zur Alten Post" empfehlen - vielen Dank für Unterkunft und Gastronomie!

Lunch

Went for a nice lunch. Got a salad and a German sausage. The menu is only in German but that's common in this area. The waitress had English which meant it was fine. Lunch including a coffee was less than 11 euro - good value overall.
While I didn't use it, I noted there was a full bar with gin etc. and a number of beers on tap.
Food was nice and staff were nice.
It appeared to be cash only, didn't seem to accept card for payment.

Expensive and Dishonest

Not sure why this restaurant rates well. Perhaps they treat the locals differently.
No menus in other languages, nor any other languages spoken here. Arrogant attitude to foreigners.
We eventually struggled through an order. The food itself was OK, though the flies were unbearable. The bill for not a lot was 62 Euro. When I gave the waiter 70 euro he pocketed it and walked off, no offer of change, taking full advantage of the language barrier. Very dishonest and opportunist.
The accommodation - room hot and alive with mosquitoes, but a comfortable bed at least!
Breakfast - bread and toppings, but not if you don't like food covered in flies. Oh dear.

Eher eine Pension

Wir hatten drei Näche gebucht. Dachzimmer mit Balkon. Eine Nacht zwischen 139 und 125 €. Das Zimmer war warm, hatte aber eine Fliegengitter Balkon Türe zum Dauerlüften (super). Auf dem Balkon hatte man bis ca. 21 Uhr den intensiven Fettgeruch der Küche, deren Lüftung direkt unter dem Balkon war (ätzend). Austattung und sauberkeit ok. Kühschrank leider nicht vorhanden. Frühstück war gut aber nichts für Teetrinker (Teebeutel mitbringen). Zusammenfassend: Preis wie in einem Hotel aber eher hier ein Pensionscharakter

Sehr leckeres Essen

Da man wegen Corona nirgends hin kann, war ich sehf froh, über die To Go Möglichkeit.
Wir haben Rahmschnitzel mit Spätzle + Gemüse, und paniertes Schnitzel mit Pommes+ Salat bestellt. Alles war sehr lecker zubereitet. Der Preis war für jeweils 2 Schnitzel mit allen Beilagen absolut in Ordung. Der Gastwirt ist sehr sympathisch. Wir werden in Zukunft öfters kommen und es auch weiter empfehlen.
