Best starting point for the path to the source of the Isar.

We can recommend the Frankenhof all around. We were traveling as a couple on the Isar bike path, and Scharnitz is the starting point. Our room was beautiful, quiet, very spacious, and had a balcony with a wide view of the valley and the mountains. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent. There was a secure storage option for our bikes. We would stay here again at any time. Thank you very much!

Bottom line, it was ok and reasonable to the price

The rooms are very clean, the decor is ok, the bathroom is sufficient. We had a balcony to the west side and could enjoy the afternoon sun. The breakfast buffet is also top for a guesthouse.
Unfortunately, there are also 2 negative things we didn't like:
1. my cross-country ski poles disappeared from the ski depot on 20.02.25, since nothing comparable stood there anymore, we have to assume that it was not a mix-up but a theft. I have communicated this to the reception on 21.02.25 (the day of our departure) with the request for a callback on this issue, nothing has happened to date.
2. On our day of departure, I politely ask at breakfast if it would be possible to take 1 roll each (we were only 2nd persons) for the long journey home. According to the employees, this was actually not wanted, after some time a "way in" went, but we didn't want to do that anymore. It's too bad.

Pleasant overnight stay on the hike

Renovated hotel with spacious rooms decorated in Alpine style. Everything was very clean and pleasant.
Drinks and snacks are available from the vending machine.
A small but fine sauna and a relaxation room with mountain views are available.
Breakfast is very good.
We were on the hike here and very satisfied, luckily we had dinner before, the place only offers a pizzeria.

Nice hotel with sumptuous breakfast.

Hotel was within walking distance to the train station. Room was clean and has a built in kitchen. It has a sauna but we didn’t get to use it as we were too tired after hiking 19km from Hallerangerhaus.
Breakfast was very sumptuous. Receptionist is helpful.
We were given a welcome guest card which allowed free travel to Seefeld.

Any time

The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and in good condition, everything at the breakfast buffet is fresh and the selection is great. There are parking spaces right next to the building, WiFi is stable and the speed is sufficient.
