This little town is your gateway for entry into the Madidi National Park and the Amazonian rainforest. Set on the banks of the Beni River, Rurrenabaque provides a honest look into what daily life is like in the remotes of Bolivia. Amenities are very rudimentary, but the people are outstandingly kind and eager to help you prepare to head into the forest.

A fun place to visit and stop while waiting for a tour of the Amazon basin. It is lively yet chilled, and packed with good restaurants and bars, and lots of nearby activities. Once the sun goes down, the nearby forests become alive with the multitude of animals that live there!

Bolivia is renowned as being one of the cheapest places in South America for tours to the Amazon, whilst still providing a very professional service. It’s also a hotspot for wildlife, meaning it should be high on the agenda for all nature lovers. As well as the vast array of animals on show, it is also a great place to experience all the indigenous cultures and traditions that are present in the Amazon. The town of Rurrenabaque is most people's entry point into the area and is the gateway into the amazing Parque Nacional Madidi, which will be able to cater to all your Amazonian demands.

This is the gateway town to Madidi. Come here to get a guide, and strap up for some of the most intense jungle in the world. It is an outpost with few amenities, so anything special gear you want to take into the jungle with you, you should bring here. It is an epic plane flight from El Alto, diving down down down into the Amazon through a mountain pass, or a grueling 18 hours in a bus (really depends on the raods in the rainy season. However if you want to see pristine Amazon basin, I am not sure of a better way to do it than to take off from here.
