Tout était très bien excepté l’accès qui n’est pas possible en voiture et qui nécessite à minima une information avant de se rendre à l’hôtel

Great hotel.

Spent 2 nights June clean comfy. Best nights sleep ever. Booked breakfast night before save £5 if done this way. Worth every penny. Will be back.

A diamond in the rough

I stay here regularly for business and this hotel is diamond in the rough. It’s clean comfortable, and close to the amenities in the nicer end of town and the train station. It also has a small gym, a business centre and a nice rooftop bar. I’ve probably stayed on every floor and in every room type (including the suites which are like enormous 2 bed apartments on the 15th floor) and never had an issue. I like that you can cast from your phone to the large tvs to watch your fave shows (when this works, occasionally it refuses to pair).
There’s a good selection of restaurants nearby (wagamamas, Nandos, prezzo etc), a M&S foodhall and Sainsburys. Potters opposite the hotel entrance is also ok. Also a large Pure gym if you’re member.
The staff at this hotel are lovely and friendly, especially on reception and at breakfast. I always stay here and always recommend to others, just please don’t put your prices up Mercure!

Fantastic staff.

This is a comfortable, clean and fairly modern hotel, facilities were very good, food was great and breakfast was fresh and well presented, but, what singles this hotel out are the staff. They made us feel like old friends. Efficient, smiling and helpful. Special mentions to Nathan, Bessy, Coulay (I’m sure I’ve misspelled that, sorry) and to Andrei on the night desk. If I have need of a hotel in Newport again, I can’t think of a single reason why I wouldn’t choose this one again. Well done to the staff.

Solo travel

The room was nice and clean with good shower facilities. Team at the restaurant was very good. Breakfast was a little underwhelming however. As someone who did a solo stay, it was a pleasant enough experience and would go back again in the future
