Great Experience thanks to the people

I was very pleased by my experience at the Airport Plaza Hotel. It is not often that I give such ratings to hotels of this standard, but in a place like South Sudan, I was having difficulty finding even the most basic of essentials- accommodation, tour, etc etc... I was about to give up on visiting when I chanced upon the Airport Plaza Hotel, who arranged a room and board for me as well as a tour guide to show me around Juba! They even assisted me in the mandatory registration of my visa which was required in order to leave the country. Florence and Queen (front desk) and Isaac (manager) went above and beyond to make my stay a comfortable one and for this I greatly appreciated their help. I highly recommend the hotel to any prospective guest to South Sudan.

Two days stay

This hotel is okay, and in South Sudan it is a good standard. Good food, good service but the toilet and shower was very dirty.
The rooms are very big, and the wifi is working quiet well. Thearea around the hotel is safe.
Also only 200 meter to the UN camp Tomping and 5 minutes from the airport.

Brief stay

Just stayed one night. First the good: good air con, comfortable bed, friendly, if shy staff, clean. Cons: a bit grim, no toilet seat, no hot water, I’d say a bit isolated, but from what? Stayed on the first floor, which was much cooler, rooftop has terrace but it’s quite hot. View from window was of barb wire, trash and building next door. Electricity went off several times during stay. Restaurant was okay, but was warm at dinner, cooler for breakfast.
Hard to be too critical in an area that has so many problems. One of those you made the decision to be here so deal with it

Quite nice regarding the local context.

In that kind of city, you have to take the local context into consideration.
The hotel is conveniently located near the airport, with a shuttle service.
Rooms are quite good, even with a weak Wi-Fi signal as usual. The restaurant and Ethiopian food is excellent and the team is helpful.
Honestly, I will try to avoid Juba in the next few months, but if I have to go back there, I will choose this hotel without any hesitation.

Clean, modern, comfy bed, good water pressure, excellent (if not super-fast) WiFi

All-around good experience (days in late April 2015) right at the airport with 24h power (sometimes generator power), good (but not excellent) free Wifi, and a very comfortable, spotlessly clean room. Good & reasonably priced restaurant downstairs and upstairs (rooftop bar, but lots of insects at night), full (English) breakfast included in room rate. Staff seems competent and reliable.
