My first cup of espresso in China
Location - you've one of two options around Qionghai - either in the tourist area of Bo'ao, or here in the city centre. I was working so this one worked out great for access to restaurants and roads out of town. It was still quite noisy in the late evening however so get yourself some ear plugs and stay as high in the hotel as you can - 11th floor.
Quality / Cleanliness - I'd give it a 3/5 for quality, and the room was very clean, but they didn't touch anything but the bathroom while I was out (including not emptying the bin).
By the standards of the places I've stayed in China this is probably a 4/5, but being critical at comparing to the rest of the world it can't be more than three. Cheap cheap as are most places here though too.

rats !!
When we checked-in, some people were firing fireworks around the area and it was pretty noisy. When i wanted to videotape the fireworks, I went to the end of the building on the 7th level and it was right beside a staircase landing. As it was quite dark, I looked for the light switch and when i flicked the switch, I was shocked to see a rat run out of the staircase landing and into the common corridor !! I blocked its way and managed to scare it back into the staircase landing.
Other that the above issue, security seems ok as i saw a guard making his rounds at night.
Water pressure of the rain shower was good also. However, bed is abit too hard for me.
There is a karaoke lounge on the 3rd level and it quite popular as i saw a few drunkards being led out by their companions.
location is good but as visitors, i find it almost impossible to cross the road to the supermarket so just went to the smaller shops on the left/right of the hotel.

good for qionghai, some annoying shortcomings..
Location is great, it's very central and lots of amenities around (might find it a bit noisy on lower floors), about 10rmb from station by taxi (everywhere is 10-15rmb in qionghai).
The reception was OK, there is a cashpoint in reception and they accept international credit cards. Hotel is generally pretty clean & tidy as far as China standard goes. Room also, and spacious. My room is twin bed (with computer which i don't need). Beds very hard - have to add the spare duvet underneath for some cushioning. Annoyingly there is no-where to put my folded clothes, only some hangars - so they are all on the spare bed. There is no room safe, and no fridge. The air-con works well and is fairly quiet.
The restaurant serves some 'western dishes' which seem edible-to-ok, although if you want the 3for2 beer deal, say at the beginning. if you order one and then decide to go for the deal, it's not allowed... china! Also there is NO BREAKFAST at the hotel - i don't know what time the restaurant opens, but not before 8.30am.. the shop down the road to the left has some small cakes.
other small niggles - there's no complimentary water, it's 5rmb/bottle - a ridiculous mark-up, the chair is way too low to work at the desk and you can hear upstairs banging around quite clearly.
Overall it's an OK choice if you want to be central and clean but hungry and have to be in Qionghai.
