Great place. Lincoln's Tomb, Illinois State Fair, Horseshoe Sandwich, Lincoln's Home, Frank Lloyd Wright House, Dana-Thomas House. Lots to do.
If Illinois is the Land of Lincoln, Springfield is it's beating heart. There are plenty of historic and Lincoln related sites to see: the Lincoln Presidential Museum, the Lincoln Home, and of course Lincoln'd Tomb. A pleasant Mid-western town, it's the state capitol and the county seat.
