The main draw here is clearly the Mayo Clinic, but the city itself has a (tiny) cute downtown and the local area, if you are willing to get in a car, has some local interest.
If you come to Rochester and are looking to do some of the attracctions here, check their schedules carefully as many things may only be open on select days for a few hours. Also, if you're coming to Rochester, check out my guide for the Rochester, MN--DMC (Destination Medical Center), which I am building which lists attractions and activities for about an hour and a half drive out of Rochester, trying to de-emphasize the Twin Cities as much as possible). Rochester is a medium-sized city, with a population over 100,000. It is the home of the Mayo Clinic situated in the downtown area. For years, there wasn't much to do, but over the past few years, things have slowly started to change in Rochester, with more activities becoming available and more restaurants opening up, as the city has moved forward with the Destination Medical Center project.
Rochester is a small town in Minnesota known most for the Mayo Clinic. There are a number of cafés and bars one could check out, but aside from that, there's not much to see here.
Very nice place, people are friendly and a great place to go for medical treatment.
