Richmond is a very cool city, with a lots of Historical scenery. But need to be bigger and more stadiums and concert venues that way more celebrities want to come here and it is a REAL city. However, as for arts, gardens, and food Richmond is considered a wonderful city! Plus close to DC, the beach and mountains.

I had a great time in Richmond. Though I was visiting a sick relative, Cary Town, Byrd Park and the areas around VCU were quite hospitable.

One of the U.S.'s most important historical cities. The state of Virginia has played an over-sized role in the early development of the U.S. For fans of colonial and civil war era Richmond is an absolute must. Check out many fine colonial mansions, and learn more about the civil war and the importance of Richmond, the capitol of the confederacy.

Richmond is the capital of the state of Virginia. It is steeped in the history of the country going back to Patrick Henry's pre-revolutionary speech, "Give me liberty, or give me death," that was made at St. John's Episcopal Church in Richmond. Richmond also served as the capital of the Confederate States of America from 1861 to 1865. If you're interested in the history of America, Richmond and it historical sites are a must see.
