El Paso is a small city with big culture! It is fun during big Mexican celebrations. Visit during Dia de Los Muertos for fun events! It is a quiet city but the food is amazing and if you have your passport Mexico is about 15 minutes away. You'll experience real everyday Mexico.

Not a nice place to visit on a family vacation, but difficult to avoid between Dallas and the California coast. The city smells bad and seems rundown compared to other locales in Texas. I would definitely avoid it.
