If you want a taste of the real Scotland, come to Glasgow. Although not as picturesque as Edinburgh, the city offers a wide range of interesting restaurants and a plethora or bars and nightclubs. The people here are super friendly and always willing to help you and talk to you. The city is very traditionally Scottish and if you want to experience Scottish culture, come here.

Although I only had 24 hours in Glasgow, I can say that I'm so ready to come back and see even more. When visiting, the commonwealth games were going on and the city was dressed to a tee in everything Scottish. The culture, the people, the food, and the hospitality were better than I could have every imagined. This city is so vibrant with culture and history but has the modern feel to it. I definitely recommend all travelers to visit this beautiful city.

Glasgow was quiet and laid back city. I had a chance to visit back in 2004 with my previous job, visiting our office there. Last day after work, I got to walk around the city and have a few scotch drinks and some local food. Night life here doesn't come alive til after 11pm, when I was already very sleepy.
