Few cities in England have the simple beauty of Exeter, not too big, not too small, made for the people and the dimensions of their life. Founded by the Romans under the name of Isca Dumnoniorum. It was, at the time (50 AD) the most western Roman fortress in Anglia. Today Exeter is a lively city, with nice restaurants and bars, few interesting museums and an incredible and marvelous Cathedral (don't miss the chance to see it).
EXETER is a lively city with a magnificent Cathedral, Castle, historic quayside area with artisan shops and cafes including Mol’s Coffee House. There are guided tours of the maze of the city’s Underground Passages and a wealth of bars, shops and restaurants. Other attractions include St Nicholas Priory and the Royal Albert Museum & Art Gallery. There are also some fabulous walks and cycle rides along the banks of the river, including one from Exeter to the coast at Exmouth. Cycles, Canoes & Kayaks can be hired from Exeter Quay.
A nice day out on a sunny day! To reach the top you need to physically abled.
I left my heart in Exeter!
