Very beautiful landscape. Cheap food and hotel. People are nice and friendly.
Chiang Rai is situated in the northern part of Thailand. Ti is near the Triangle, the famous opium plant can be found here. You can experienced green plant tour and saw the village and children how to survive here. Some beautiful temple and origins will be seen too.
It takes about 3 hours to get from ChiangMai to Chiang Rai. The White Temple is really beautiful a and very photogenic :) however I don't recommend taking one of those day tours that take you to Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle as they feel like tourist traps. Take your time to read about the guy that built this temple and the message he is trying to convey.
