We stayed at Mexico Maxico hotel right off the main road in Crucesitas. IT is just a block from the bay. It is the main port where you can book your 9 bay boat tour. Eat at the Adelinas little restaurant. She makes the best chocolate cosaints. Try the street tacos and take a little detour to the town square for some really good ice cream and aguas frescas.
It feels safe and wholesome, not jet overrun by tourism
