Cirtur - Chapada diamantina
This picturesque old mining town is the prettiest place to stay whilst in Chapada Diamantina and is a great base for exploring the surrounding national park. There are an abundance of excellent walks that start and finish in Lencois, which lead you past waterfalls, caves, rivers and natural waterslides. The scenery around the town is absolutely stunning and is matched by the lovely colourful buildings and old cobbled streets in the centre itself.
Lençois, portal of Chapada Diamantina, a regular destination of Bahia Guide (1st link on google). This National Parc of Chapada Diamantina is also known as the Brazilian Grand Canyon. A marvelous place to stay, relax, hike, swim, go up in the mountains, go down in one of the numerous caves. It is advised to keep Lençois as your base-camp and do all your local trips from there.
