Didn't realize it was inside the Mark City Bldg. at first so my google maps led me around to the back side of the building before I realized what was going on. That was annoying. As long as you realize it's INSIDE the building, getting there isn't too troublesome.

As far a locations go, you really can't beat this one. It's smack in the center of Shibuya's transportation hub (many train lines intersect here) and it's one of Tokyo's main shopping and eating areas.

As far as interior goes, it's got a lot of tile and marble that create a cold cavernous atmosphere in general. This hotel is best for it's location. There's a Chinese shop on the restaurant floor in Mark City Bldg. called Sail O's on the 4F that I liked. They have an English menu. Interesting points: Shibuya Crossing, called a 'scramble' in Japan for the 5 way intersection is the busiest intersection in the world with one of the busiest Starbucks Coffee shops (in the Tower Records Building) at the corner. You can get some great photos of people crossing the street with umbrellas on a rainy day here.

Nestled just inside Shibuya Mark City shopping plaza and a mere stone’s throw away from Hachiko Crossing (the busiest street crossing in the entire world) lies Excel Hotel Tokyu. Visitors arriving from a long international flight will be pleased to note that the hotel is a mere minute or two away from Shibuya Station and quite easy to find.
Even the interior of the hotel sees quite a bit of foot traffic as there are a wide variety of shops and restaurants inside. The rooms are quiet and clean and a welcome changes from the busy streets of Shibuya.
The fact that hotel is connected to the Mark City shopping plaza means that visitors can easily take care of souvenir shopping and the like without even having to leave the building. It’s also worth noting that the view from the upper floors is particularly breath taking providing plenty of photo opportunities. There is also a seemingly endless supply of restaurants to choose from.

This hotel has a great glass elevator. There's a nice view of the soccer field on top of Tokyu Department Store, the ant-like looking people crossing at Shibuya scramble, and of the rest of the city. It's a good place to be located as it's on top of part of Shibuya station. The rooms are fine, but I smelled smoke on a nonsmoking floor, and my traveling companion agreed. It's a great location, good staff, but the interior is forgettable. If your room doesn't face Shibuya scramble and you want to see it without being in the scramble, the Japanese restaurant on the top floor has a really good view.

Decent hotel. Across from the train station. Some rooms seem really dated. Go and buy your own pillows, as the ones at the hotels are really bad.

This is an awesome hotel! It's nice and clean. The views from rooms are great and you can see a football field on top of Shibuya station ( I remember that place from a movie, but I can't remember the name of the movie.)
Rooms are reasonable but there are ways to book for cheap using the internet.
Also, the location is convenient.. It's just a one or two min. walk from J.R. Shibuya Station Hachiko exit. From the hotel, you can see everyone waiting to meet friends around Hachiko and smoking especially on Friday and Saturday nights. This hotel is a good way to experience Shibuya.

its a nice hotel, and very convenient
