HaCarmel is worth a visit for picking up some groceries, or even just some snacks, especially right before Shabbat.

Local street market in Tel Aviv on Carmel Street. Market opens everyday except Saturdays.

Incredibly interesting market where to spot lots of local action, especially as the weekend approach and people are busy buying all the ingredients for the Shabbat meal. It's good to shop, to explore, and especially to grab some cheap bites.

Now that's a real market / bazaar! Reminds me of the street markets when I visited Chihuahua, Mexico, long ago as well as St. Louis's "Little Mexico."

Great place to walk around and buy things. Very crowded and genuinely Israeli! Friday afternoons are prime time.

Great market for buying everything from vegetables, fruits, fish, meat to home goods and all for very low price but good quality!
Also, a lot of trendy places opened up recently for drinks, coffee, beers and food, where you can spend great Friday at!

Take in all the local flavours here - watch little old ladies bargain with shopkeepers who try to up their charm, buy some snacks, get some juice and local produce... Lots of souvenirs available here too! Watch out for pickpockets though, and some shopkeepers can be grumpy. If you like markets, this is a nice introduction to local food.

While I don't care much for the flea market aspect of this market the food section is awesome...

I've known Hakarmel market since I was a little kid, but have grown to love it in its evolution into a vibrant town-heart hub for localers and foreigners passing through.Besides great fresh produce from farmer to consumer, you'll find here plenty of excellent little local restaurants dishing out home-made goodies: humus joints, kubbe soup, gourme falafel, Iraqui cooks, etc. you'll also find micro-beer bars, exotic coffee shops, and little treasures. The narrow alleys winding through "old tel aviv" houses, decorated with balconies, roofs, and graffiti, add to the local charm, sure to hook you up.

A typical Israeli shuk, the market has something for everyone - food, jewelry, toys, art and much more. Avoid on a busy Friday unless you need food for Shabbat!

Walk down this colorful and loud market in the centre of Tel Aviv. Mountains of herbs & spice, cheese, olives, baklava and more. Great place to pick up goodies for a picnic.

To walk around in the Carmel Market is a great way to experience the middle eastern atmosphere. You can buy there shirts, veggies, fruits, and souvenirs. It is next to Nahalat Binyamin and Shenking St. I would not recommend to go there on Friday morning because everybody buys groceries for the weekend. Don't miss it! on Saturday the marked is closed.
