We love visiting the aquarium whenever we are in town! My 5 year old and 2 year old never get tired of exploring the exhibits.

The aquarium is doing much for the ocean and the animals that live there. They are rescuing and rehabilitating sea turtles. Lots to see and experience here to see at the Note Aquarium.

A must for family with children. Very educational. They also have discovery boat tours that you should look into.

Aquarium that features a touch tank for little ones and a wide-array of sea creatures. They have reciprocity with many other zoos and aquariums so if you already have a pass for your local zoo you may be able to buy BOGO tickets. Check with your local zoo.

My favorite smaller aquarium ever. Geared toward kids and families, lots of interactive exhibits. They keep expanding - they recently added otters and crocodiles. They are a true research facility as well, so lots of great information about sustainability, global warming, etc.

Mote aquarium offers Manatees to see up close and personal! Manatees are well known in the area but are not seen in aquariums often, so this visit is a real treat! Take the behind the scenes tour of the aquarium as well along with the boat tour to learn more about the marine life in the area. A great family adventure.

This is the coolest aquarium I've ever been to. It's reasonably priced and takes a decent amount of time to go through. Lots of cool things to see as well. Recommend when in the area.

For the kids! About a mile north on City Island is the local aquarium. Be sure to stop at the Old Salty Dog for lunch and watch the boats go by.

I took my 5 year old nice and she loved it. The touch tanks were a good idea! My boyfriend and I liked the educational part and thought it was really neat that you could see the the baby sea turtles and their doctors hard at work. The price to get in is a little expensive though. The food wasn't badly priced at all! I would love to go again without my niece and read what I wasn't able to when I took her, but at 20$ an adult and 10$ a kid.... One trip was enough.

A very special aquarium that has the intimacy of feeling like it is all our own. They perform remarkable work in marine science and there are more experts here than at NASA - just kidding. Easy to reach just outside of Long Boat Key and well worth a trip with the kids or any animal lover.
